Arc Bike II

MX3D has printed its first lightweight aluminum bike. This project shows that with the MX3D printing process, a custom bicycle can go from idea to end product incredibly fast. The design is produced by a generative design software to tailor fit the proportions of the rider’s body. It is then translated by the MX3D software to robot instructions, which allows the frame to be 3D printed within 24 hours.  After printing, a smart fixture setup allows any custom frame to be easily prepared for riding.

The aluminum bicycle is one of many showcases on how MX3D’s WAAM Software can be used for flexible on demand printing.

Do you want to print your own bikes? Since the summer of 2019 the MX3D Software is available for pre-orders.
